Am I Eligible to Receive Food Support?

At Transit, we recognise the challenges many are facing during these tough times. With an increased demand for food support, our aim is to ensure we are directing supplies to those who need them most.

To facilitate this process, we've implemented the following steps:

  1. When you arrive: present you and your partner/spouse’ Centrelink Income Statement (IMPORTANT: this is not viewing your bank account transactions, salary or financial history - it is a more generalised form Centrelink provides)

  2. Please check for eligible payments listed in the table below. This can be viewed on your phone or printed.

Click here for instructions or a video on accessing your statement. We will not retain a copy of this statement, it only needs to be viewed and updated in our system. Once done, it remains valid for 12 months.

Please note: Unfortunately, we can only supply food to those living inside the City of Casey. Please see list of other food support services in your area on this website.

What if I don’t have a Centrelink Income Statement and I am still struggling with food insecurity?

If you find yourself in this situation, we encourage you to reach out to Malcolm, Lisa, Dot, or Sabina. Our goal is to ensure that nobody experiencing food insecurity is left without support.

We understand that each situation is unique, and we approach them on a case-by-case basis.

Here are some examples of individuals who may not have an Income Statement or relevant payments:

·         Refugees

·         Those who are homeless

·         Individuals on Student Visas

·         Non-Australian citizens or Permanent Residents

·         New Zealand citizens

·         Those receiving minimal payments from Centrelink (such as only the Family Tax Benefit) and are encountering challenges with food insecurity.
